How We Work: About Earth Sun Energy Systems
I
have been a contractor and design-builder for over 10 years. My
projects have included houses, additions, rehabs, new construction.
I've designed hydronic heating systems and air conditioning systems as
well as integrated energy effficient measures into my projects. Some
projects I've taken from start to finish, others I've joined in with
others on and contributed some piece to. I like working closely with
clients, and believe that the complicated process of building a home is
as much a process of discovering and unfolding as it is of determined
application.
I
have a somewhat unexpected background. I hold a Masters degree in
Sustainable Development and Conservation Biology, and degrees in
Physics and Political Economics, and graduate work in Ecological
Economics. My 25 year interest in alternative technologies is unabated,
but considerably developed by my experience in building and energy
systems design, and equally by my longstanding interest in listening
skills and peer counseling, consensus decision-making, intentional
community, and peace and justice work. A sustainable future is woven of
many threads.
I
believe our homes reflect and advance the communities that define our
lives. As Americans, we have to step up to the responsibility of
building a more just world, which must include thinking well about
energy and resource use: for the sake of addressing climate change, and
ending our reliance on limited world energy resources that we have
already over-appropriated.
Green building is an act of responsibilty and hope. I look forward to thinking with you about how I can help
you address these questions in concrete ways in your own life. Thanks!
